BIO – Ty Saunders Master Photographer explores the world’s lost legends through a spiritual lens. Driven since childhood, I discovered a passion for ancient cultures and their mysteries through books and magazines. Guided by a deep spiritual connection to their traditions, warrior stories, and reverence for the Great Spirit, Ty eventually journeyed to explore remote sacred sites and ruins. Ty’s photography started to carry a deeper message after finding several of these lost legends in these powerful landscapes. He started to create a unique line of photography, WALKING WITH THE ANCIENTS. Uncovering native mysteries of the past. Knowing his images of these lost legends, esoteric markings would be sought after by collectors worldwide, having to fly solo keeping all his work out of the spotlight and off the grid for over 25 years until he felt inspired to start releasing some of his work to the world in 2025. Exploring promptings through the years that pushed him to remote Territories Uncharted, receiving promptings from the ancient inhabitants, seeing the INVISIBLE become VISIBLE. What was being found was powerful and would change Native history in Native America and the world. Territories Uncharted: hidden location. I have been out searching for lost legends off the grid for weeks with no trails to follow, finding only petroglyphs and cave dwellings. I started to explore a place Native Americans once owned. Hiking for days, the spirit prompted me to stop in my tracks and look around. In doing so, this ancient Native Chief reveals himself. Feeling his thundering spirit hit me with overwhelming power-it hit me again. “WE ARE STILL HERE,” “Hidden Legends” echoed like a voice of thunder. trying to hold my ground as it reverberated past me. After several photos of him, I later asked him who he was. He told me to watch the skies above him. This chief followed old-school traditions by sending smoke signals back, revealing in the sky above him a NATIVE CHIEF of this land of NO BOUNDARIES..

Territories Uncharted: searching for lost legends, Navajo slot canyons. Walking through these desert canyons as the wind and light dashed through the narrow sky slots, I was prompted by ancient echoes to watch closely. I began to see Native spirits appearing. Along the canyon walls, the shifting light revealed a warrior, and above them, a coyote and a tall, Native woman glowing with long hair flowing along these canyon walls. I felt that this was a sacred spot. As I watched and took several shots, a body shape emerged in the shifting illumination – I had captured a Native Ghost Chief, an ancient warrior wearing a feathered headdress that revealed his power..

I was searching for lost legends and exploring a few of the desert canyons in the Southwest, seeing for myself how the ancient native spirits used the elements in these Navajo lands. They used the wind and water to shape parts of their history and legends, leaving many mysteries behind. I was lucky enough to meet one of them as she glowed along the canyon walls, revealing herself as an ancient indigenous spirit. She moved me quickly into position to take her photos, knowing how fast the shifting light moves here. The timing was perfect, catching this beautiful masterpiece of hers in the elements in all her beauty – letting me know the love she has for this place and her people..

Territories Uncharted, a hidden location, searching for lost legends. After driving for days through deserts, finally being prompted, I started my hiking. There were no trails to follow, only promptings. I came across an ancient canyon with cliff dwellings, suddenly finding myself surrounded by natives along the rims of these canyons without any warning. They let me walk right into their territory without shooting any arrows toward me, remaining hidden until they revealed themselves. Like a heartbeat of thunder, the warriors appeared-weathered with battle scars and faded warpaint. They used their unique ability to blend into the elements, wrapping along the canyon cliffs while still standing guard over their sacred territory. I hung out with them for a while. They gave me the best place to stand to get all three of them together. Looking like thunder, they rewarded me with this unbelievably powerful photo..

WARBONNET CHIEF, Limited Edition 30×45″ $175,000
Territories Uncharted hidden locations; out searching for lost legends, exploring and searching remote areas for days, keeping my eyes out for snakes and arrows with no trails to follow but small promptings, crossing several canyons and valleys. Then I saw this tall, narrow rock formation. I could hear its spirit echoing for me to take its picture, telling it, “You are too far away.” So I kept walking, using the sundial as I circled around this canyon. I headed down the valley, following the river, walking with the ancients. I could finally see the rock formation from a distance. As I hiked up around it, a powerful chief wearing a war bonnet appeared with faded tribal colors, facing west into the sun, with a painted blue sky revealing all his details and ancient stone monuments. I could feel his presence. I sat with him for a while, overlooking his territory as he pointed out others, showing he was not alone. As I studied the landscape to find the best shot to reveal this chief’s power in the landscape around him, I spent the day there visiting other ancient stone natives and their wildlife among the monuments..
CHIEF HIGH TIDES, Limited Edition 30×45″ $55,000
Territories Uncharted searching for lost legends, found myself walking with the ancients. Spent several days around the Great Lakes of North America known for its native history. Walking along the shorelines, I found myself walking right into uncharted tribal territory. Receiving several ancient promptings, I then received many other promptings as I looked around. I started to see a glimpse of several natives appearing, feeling the power of this sacred place. I focused on the first promptings, taking several shots of these ancient stone carvings learning he was one of the chiefs here. Then I followed another native spirit chief, sharing with me seeing this incredible masterpiece of this chief’s stone war bonnet feeling its power taking several shots of this ancient warrior. Telling me there was a whole tribe of us here wanting their photos taken. Looking around, some did not make it through the harsh high tides here. I chose this one for my gallery named Chief High Tide.
